KAYLYN SCHNELL, 4TH YEAR REPRESENTATIVE

Kaylyn just completed her 16-month internship with Canadian Natural Resources working as an Exploitation and Production Engineering Intern. She is now in her fourth and final year of chemical engineering. This is Kaylyn’s third year on CESS council and this year she hopes to work to increase student participation in CESS events. Outside of CESS Kaylyn has previously been a VP on ESS Council and the ENGG Rep on the Students’ Union Student Legislative Council. In her spare time she likes to cross country ski, hike and spend time with friends and family.

DAVID NGUYEN, INTERNSHIP REPRESENTATIVE

David finished his third year in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Petroleum Engineering and is currently enjoying his 16-month internship at TransCanada as a Leak Detection Engineering Intern in Liquids Systems Operations. David was the Third Year Representative last year and has come back to be this year’s Internship Representative. At work, he is currently the Co-chair of the Student Workplace and Experience Enhancers program, collaborating with a team to organize at least 4 events per month to enhance students’ experiences at the company. Outside of work and school, David dances West Coast Swing, plays classical guitar and practices archery as well as other firearms. He also sings in the shower and will bring you karaoke.

ZEWEI (KURT) TANG, 3RD YEAR REPRESENTATIVE

Kurt is currently a third year Chemical Engineering student with Petroleum minor. He takes great pride in his work, is determined to build a stronger bonding between students and department. By keeping good relationships with all the professors, Kurt loves to constantly discuss problems and provide feedbacks with each instructors and department head. His goal is trying to help students to get more involved with CESS events, and eventually improve the quality of our department as a whole. Kurt is also PES Representative, ASEC sponsorship Director and YPAC Board of Director.

ARBY SENO, 2ND YEAR REPRESENTATIVE

Arby had just started his second year in Chemical Engineering with a Biomedical Engineering Specialization. This is his first time being in CESS council and he is excited to represent his fellow second years in council. Outside of CESS, he has been an orientation leader and is currently a peer mentor for ESS. He has also been involved in various school councils, clubs and the choir in his high school stint. In his spare time, he enjoys taking pictures, spending time with friends and family, working part-time, as well as being involved in the community. He hopes to harness more leadership experience by being in CESS council.

EVA SOMBROWSKI, 2ND YEAR REPRESENTATIVE

Eva is going into second year chemical engineering with a specialization in biomedical engineering. This is Eva’s first year on CESS and as a second year rep, she hopes to increase student engagement and connect students to the copious events and resources that CESS and the Schulich School of Engineering have to offer. She wishes to act as an advocate for her classmates and get useful feedback to help improve the student experience. Outside of CESS, Eva is also part of the Schulich Scholars program as well as the director for the ESS Job Shadow program. In her spare time, Eva enjoys playing volleyball and riding her horse.
