The University of Calgary’s Chemical and Oil & Gas Engineering Students’ Society (CESS) is a non-profit organization run by chemical engineering students. The aim of CESS is to provide students the resources and support to prepare them for post university careers, ensuring they are informed of the innovations within the industry, and assist them in becoming well rounded engineers. At CESS, we strive for students to have opportunities to learn and gain valuable experience outside the classroom and enhance all students’ experiences at the University of Calgary.

CESS is one of the University of Calgary’s largest and longest running clubs. This year, we have eighteen dedicated student volunteers pledging to represent and provide the means to support the chemical and oil and gas community. We anticipate having over five hundred undergraduate members who will be the future leaders and innovators of tomorrow. With the help of corporate sponsors, CESS will aid these future leaders to expand their personal networks and gain a competitive advantage entering the workforce.

The opportunities provided will include industry tours, volunteer initiatives, social events, as well as student, faculty and industry mixers. Additionally, CESS sends an annual delegation of student to attend the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE). Through these opportunities, we believe students will be well equipped with a strong academic and professional foundation they will use to further develop and carry forward into their careers.

How to Be An Industry Partner

Becoming a CESS sponsor is as simple as finding a level of sponsorship that best suits your company’s budget and needs. This year, we are offering three unique levels of sponsorship opportunities.

However, these levels are flexible and sponsorship does not always have to be monetary in nature; company subsidization of events, accessories, and discounts of products and services are examples of other forms of sponsorship. Our sponsorship team is always available for contact and we will work our hardest to create the most value for your company.
